((PKG))  ALONDRA MIRELES    ((Banner:  Security Services)) ((Reporter/Camera:  Kane Farabaugh)) ((Map:  Dearborn, Michigan))   ((NATS)) ((Alondra Mireles, High School Graduate)) I have been playing violin for nine years.  I started when I was eight years old.  I was in third grade. That makes a total of nine years playing.  I made it all through high school, all through middle school. ((NATS)) I started swimming when I was in seventh grade.  I had no idea how to swim.  My family encouraged me to join the swim team and I made it all the way through high school.  And I have been swimming for six years already. ((NATS)) I am the first to graduate high school.  My mom has a GED (alternate high school diploma), as well as my aunts and my uncles.  ((NATS)) Oh, it’s very hard.  You have to get those study habits going.  If it weren’t for my family, I wouldn’t be here, because, man oh man! You get some teachers that sometimes have a different way of explaining things.  So, you have to find a good teacher that will help you out, tutor you, and get a good group of friends that will help you out has well. ((NATS)) Tonight, we are going to honors night at my school.  ((NATS)) I got a 3.0 or higher all four of my high school years. ((NATS)) Currently, I work as an intern at the Dearborn Police Station.  After I graduate, I plan on going into the National Guard, possibly getting a job in the military police.  Ever since I started doing a lot of community service, I knew that I really liked to help people.  And I know that obviously in the United States there is a lot of need, and pretty much anywhere in the world, there is a lot of need to help people.  And there is a need for leaders, and for people to step it up and take that charge.
